In a novel initiative, the students and faculty of the Department of Fashion Design at the Jain (Deemed-to-be University) has turned trash into a fashion treasure. The products are showcased at the sustainable fashion show being held alongside the Summit of Future.
The products are made of discarded materials, such as jute, marine plastic waste, and other junk items. They weave the rich heritage of Indian culture, art, and literature into designs.

A standout element is the use of 3D pen technology to craft clothing from plastic waste, particularly marine scraps.
Another dazzling segment is ‘transformation fashion’, where outfits shift colours and styles, which create an unforgettable visual spectacle.

In order to achieve the feat, students and their mentors worked relentlessly, furbishing various locations and crafting visionary designs.
“This isn’t just a fashion show, it’s a movement,” said a student designer. “We want to prove that sustainability and style can go hand in hand and even set trends,” she said.
